During my study of end times, I’ve come across many authors that have essentially asserted that we are NOT to watch for Jesus’ return
But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. – Matthew 24:36
While I’m not a full-on theologian, I’m still able to come up with a TON of passages commanding us TO watch for His return. Since the bible cannot contradict itself, something having to do with interpretation is up. Honestly, I think it’s a lie that’s been sold to the church in this past century, to essentially put believers to sleep.

I recommend reading these both BEFORE you enter into an end-times conversation with with pastoral / ministry types. The first one is detailed, but well worth it (it addresses the concept of the “imminent rapture” – with a surprising conclusion.
